So Thankful!

So, this is a thing.

Fridge's pump leaked, ruining the kitchen floor, the hall floor, and down into John's office in the basement.
The biggest thing is that the leak leaked down onto my Tabriz rug. The man assured me that they would take good care of it and cold-clean it and bring it back "as good as new." I told them it was just about as old as I am, and John said, "Sixty!" nuh-huh. I'm not sixty yet!
We may end up having to have the entire floor in the house replaced if the affected boards can't be dried properly. The. Entire. House.
Starting our month of Thankfulness, we are thankful for insurance.
And--I am SO THANKFUL that this is not as bad as the last time this company helped us out! That was in 2002, at our old house, when our septic tank backed up into the basement. I told the men that story, and he said we're legendary! We're still talked about.

Tabriz

Mom and Dad--I finally found a place where I can get the Tabriz rug cleaned. The kids helped me load it into the van and we took it to Birmingham. That was the same day as our zoo trip. We picked it up yesterday after looking around the Riverchase Galleria mall--what a treat to go there, since the mall in Florence is a small one!

The rug came out looking great. the floral designs are much brighter, I suppose because 40-something years of dust are gone. It looks great in our living room. Thank you for this valuable gift, Mom and Dad. We all love it!
