Dryers and Stoves

This has been a cranky day for some. Well, a cranky day for *one.*  😀

The dryer vent got cleaned out for the first time since we moved in. That's twelve years of dryer lint! I feel like we are lucky/blessed/fortunate to not have had a lint fire. The cranky one didn't want to help with this. I sent Luci down to watch and take photos (mama break!).

As the boys were cleaning out the vent, I tried to cook. The oven went out! John said, "Now I know what to get you for Mother's Day!"  It's given us some trouble, so he decided to get a new one for me. Happy! It comes tomorrow.

Apparently, I post too much on Facebook. I have fun reposting funny or interesting items or Bible verses and encouragement, and also telling about what goes on here at our house. I have decided to get back on the blog and try to keep a record of our days here.

Four Years Ago Today....

A beautiful little girl was born in a little village in Guizhou Province, China.

We used to play "Kiss the Baby" to get Luci used to being touched by us. It is still a fun game.

Now, she returns the favor!

Having a "Fashion Show" in our hotel on the way home from Disney. We found this cute Princess costume at Cracker Barrel (of course!). This is the most I've seen her smile all week long. I'm so glad she loves going home.

We're Home!

Even though the blog kept updating itself, the kids and I were on a long car trip to Idaho (more on that in future posts) while John was on his Army trip. Here are Luci and John re-uniting after 3 weeks apart! We met John at Cracker Barrel (my all-time favorite restaurant, I'm so glad they are in our town!), had a good supper and then on to home. Such a wonderful time at Mom and Dad's but so nice to be home, too. Mississippi River, June 15. On I-155 in Tennessee. It is way too full and is so brown. It looks scary. It was over its banks here near Dyersburg, TN. Pray for those folks in Iowa and other parts north who are in harm's way. This looked too scary. I can't imagine the damage and destruction. Double click on the photos to see more of the view that we saw. I was kind of afraid driving over these bridges.

Missouri River, June 14. Also over its banks. This was from I-70 in the middle of the state of Missouri. The water is half-way up the trees. There is a tug boat in the water on the right side of the river.
