Luci is taking an art class in Huntsville this month. Thursdays for an hour. I sit outside the classroom and listen to the hub-bub inside.
Luci has learned about colors, shades, tints, complementary colors and secondary and tertiary colors (although she probably could not tell you what a secondary or tertiary color is).
Here is today's lesson--Color Wash Over a Wax Resist, Using Complementary Colors (if I use capital letters, it sounds more School-y)
Our life since adding one Chinese sister....I hope you enjoy the journey with us. Luci is a Yi Baby from Guizhou Province. Please note that this site uses cookies.

Valentine's Day Craft
What you need:
a shirt to paint
doily
paint
brush (a sponge brush works very well)
plate to hold the paint
How to do it:
Center doily on shirt.
Put paint on the plate.
Dab brush into the paint.
Dab paint onto the pattern on the doily, being sure to hold the doily still.
Final result:
Set paint according to instructions.
What I've learned:
Little girls love crafts.
Doily is a really funny word.

Thrifty me, I had a coupon. If you spend a certain amount, you get a free tile. So there's my tile with Luci's mermaid and JT's alien skateboarder. The cost of each piece includes painting and firing.

Oh, Good Grief
Last night, Luci and I saw Mina from Sprout's Good Night Show make a penguin. It involved a toilet paper roll. This morning, I'm looking up the directions on the internet, and told Luci to "go get the toilet paper roll off the bathroom counter."
Here's what she came back with:
And here's the penguin we made with that newly-empty t.p. roll:
