So Thankful!

So, this is a thing.

Fridge's pump leaked, ruining the kitchen floor, the hall floor, and down into John's office in the basement.
The biggest thing is that the leak leaked down onto my Tabriz rug. The man assured me that they would take good care of it and cold-clean it and bring it back "as good as new." I told them it was just about as old as I am, and John said, "Sixty!" nuh-huh. I'm not sixty yet!
We may end up having to have the entire floor in the house replaced if the affected boards can't be dried properly. The. Entire. House.
Starting our month of Thankfulness, we are thankful for insurance.
And--I am SO THANKFUL that this is not as bad as the last time this company helped us out! That was in 2002, at our old house, when our septic tank backed up into the basement. I told the men that story, and he said we're legendary! We're still talked about.

CrossPoint Fellowship

We had a big devotional/hamburger cook-out/sprinkler party Wednesday night with our church. Lots of fun! (Feingold families--Bryan grabbed that Vault drink and started guzzling before I could catch him. Everything else there seemed to be Feingold safe, except for the cookies that were served.)
Luci and very good friend Cole.

There were about 100 kids playing on this soccer field--TONS of fun! Luci and Cole in the foreground.

JT and Bryan with two young ladies....the boys have no idea that I "caught" them talking to females.

Luci...in her Army Kid hat. I tried to get another shot of her without that spot of light on her face, but every other photo came out blurry.

It was so fun! The breeze Wednesday night made it feel cold to this drippy princess.

Workin' at the Car Wash....

JT and Luci washed the van for me today. It hasn't been washed in a long time...there even was part of a tumbleweed stuck in the front grill which was caught in Colorado last month!

Mom! He's squirting me!!
What-cha going to do about it? (Nothing.)
Luci got over it pretty quickly, because she came up with an idea....
Squirting him back!

Visit to a University

Today we went on a field trip to UNA. Topic: Water Festival. The kids learned about water and its importance to our environment--aquifers, how the land itself can clean some things out of the water, and a visit from a Wheeler Wildlife Refuge ranger, who had a great display of a red-tailed hawk, a corn snake, as well as some animal artifacts from the Refuge. The kids got free t-shirts, too!
.
Amanda set things up for a group of us homeschoolers to take part, and I'm so glad she did. Bryan got a good review, JT learned some things, and Luci was exposed to some great ideas. Thanks, Amanda! Here are Luci and Hannah (Amanda's daughter) in the lecture hall. Bryan (acting like a sleepy college boy), JT and Tyler (Amanda's son).
Working on a craft.Luci took this very seriously!

Tyler, Bryan, Luci and JT. Tyler, you crack me up!

After the program...Luci saw some of the instructors with the "water festival" shirts on...she says her t-shirt says, "I work here!" After the program, she told me that she was ready "to go to the festival now." I told her it was already over. She was expecting something like Ni Hao, Kai-lan's Chinese New Year Festival that she's seen on Nick, Jr. Not a happy camper after that.

Water Girl

Luci chasing me with the hose last week. (sorry two of the photos are blurry--she's a fast one!) She's a little stinker. She had way too much fun trying to soak me!
