Rooster

That's my new nick-name for Luci.  She has woken me up between five and six a.m. every day for the past week.  She gets settled back down and goes back to sleep, but I end up wide-awake.

Like now.  She woke up at four a.m. today.  She's asleep.  I'm not.

YAWN.

Some recent shots:

Luci's Simply Modest swimsuit finally wore out.   While we were in Idaho.  Since we had pools at every hotel, I had to replace the suit.  I found a cute little rash-guard type suit at the mall, but it had a skimpy bottom.  Just wearing it (and it was the correct size) showed too much backside.  I have a wedge, Mama! was the cry.

So, when we got home, I bought some pink (is there any other color, really?) swimsuit material and added the leggings (I made capri pants and sewed them inside the suit's bottom) and Luci wanted a skirt, which her other Simply Modest suits had.  Here are the results.  Please notice she is modeling the suit with her multiplication flash cards.  Too funny!

Here is the little jumper I made for the Fourth of July.

And the Harding Swing, all complete!  I  love this.  What a great husband.

The Best Christmas Present!

Besides John being here, I mean...and of course I love the Black-n-Decker Electric Broom that JT got for me.

Bryan and Luci made this for me.

Merry Christmas!

Did Santa come?
Tossing paper out of the way.

Some favorite presents
.
John got a rototiller. Making the garden plot last year was so difficult with our rocky soil. This should help.

Luci makes a pretty bride!

JT likes his gloves and Chuck Norris shirt.
Bryan got some movie-making equipment.

My favorite: SNOW. The flurries only lasted about 45 minutes, but it was enough to give everyone a big smile.

And, since we never know when it will snow again, Luci begged to make a snow angel. Notice that she's barefoot! She was only out there for about one minute, so don't fret too much about it.

We really need a good snow! :)

Getting Ready

Today was fun. Luci and I started the gift-wrapping, with John's presents. Here she is writing "DAD" on a string of "to-from" stickers. In true pre-schooler fashion, when she ran out of room, she'd make the letters backwards and go the opposite direction.
.

You can see the chain behind Luci...we are up to 166 days/links now. The chain goes completely around our dining room. Granted, it's a small dining room, but that chain seems to go on forever!

.
The latest we've heard is that late on December 23, we will be hugging John's neck at the airport in Huntsville.
.

Just a bit ago I heard on the news that thousands more troops will be heading to Afghanistan next summer. This is the first time in eight years that my heart did not skip a beat at the news of deployment. John's trips are over now. He's retired from the US Army Reserves, so they won't be calling him up any more. He has assured Luci that the only trips he will go on from this point are missionary trips, and those are three weeks long at the longest. We are all happy at that news!

I am getting ready to send our Christmas cards out. If you would like one, please email me with your name (first and last) and address...cute kids photo to be taken soon and included. willingham.susan@gmail.com
