Our St. Patrick's Day Meal

We love corned beef and cabbage at our house...but the corned beef was so doggoned expensive! $11 and up here. So, we have the cabbage, and in honor of our Chinese-Irish-American family (Luci's Chinese, John's and my families have some Irish roots, and we are all American!) we are having a Chinese Black Pepper Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry.

My Leprechauns

Such a beautiful day today! The trees in the woods out back have just started to show that leaves are coming soon--it's as if they waited for St. Patrick's Day to show some green. The second one was just cute--so I had to include it.

Sweet Sunday

I just can't get over my lovely Luci, so I posted the picture twice!

Super Saturday

Saturday started off normally around here, but by lunch time things had started to get out of hand...

Luci with her bologna mask.

Ditto.
The boys have a game, in which they ride their bikes and pass a ball back and forth. Yes, this is posed (see the kickstands?) but I couldn't get a good shot, and they posed for me.
Wild man.
Love that red hair and green grass! It rained a little over an inch yesterday...and the grass is growin'!
Luci using the skateboard ramp as a slide for her "baby," while the boys whiz past. It looked like a dangerous place to play.

My Room Is Under Construction

Woo-Hoo! John made a trip to Lowe's (like a candy store to him) and came home with materials to start construction on my sewing/craft room.

Bryan unloading lumber from the truck yesterday.

Of course, JT has to give the job an electric guitar twist.
Here's the Man of the Hour!
John manages to get the boys working, and thinking it is sooo fun. Must have some Tom Sawyer in him!

3.53 Inches of Rain!

That's not all at once--that's since March 1st. Amazing--that's almost 3 months' worth in Boise. Can you believe we are still under the average for March?

CoCoRAHS is looking for more volunteers. The only cost is the rain gauge. Sign up here.

Moms and Dads--we made it through the night's storms just fine. They didn't start until after 6 am here and were well past Huntsville by 10 am. The storms dropped .76 inches of rain at our house in that little time! And our weather alert radio works just fine--it went off twice during the night (once for severe thunderstorm watch and once for severe thunderstorm). The only problem with it? Apparently I'm the only one in the house who can hear it! It's located in the entry area of the house, so it is central to everyone.

ZOO Reminder--The More, the Merrier!!

Birmingham Zoo
Tuesday
10:00 am at the front gate
Everyone's invited!

New Sheets

Luci decided she didn't like the Bob the Builder sheets after all. She wanted girly sheets. So, on grocery day, we found this pink, pink sheet at Walmart. Doesn't it look better with that green wall? Here is Luci at her nap today, wearing her pink dress and sleeping on her pink pillowcase and wearing her pink-spotted socks. Do you think she likes pink?

Building Castles

It's a castle!

Remember the Dinosaur TV Show?

This show was on from April 1991 to July 1994. The baby always wanted his mama and yelled, "NOT THE MAMA!" at his daddy. When Bryan was a baby, he'd want me instead of John, so I got John a "Not the mama!" t-shirt. That phrase was appropriate for JT, too, and now Luci:

Bedtime last night. Luci with "Not the Mama."

Card Sharks

I found JT and Luci playing cards this morning...with Candy Land cards. There was 11 cents on the table, I don't know who was winning....

Chinese? Irish? American!

Hey, Katie Lin! I have a t-shirt just like yours!!
I am American!
Just to be funny, this is how I posed for Mommy.Mom and Dad--you are going to be amazed at Luci's language skills. She is also good at pulling jokes. She fits right in with all of the Bryans!

I Put The Earrings On By Myself!

Now to look silly, just for fun!

McWane Center Field Trip

Don't pass out at the number of photos--this started out as 146!

Hannah and Luci
Tyler and JT. The boys have karate together and are on the same soccer team this season.

JT on a bed of nails JT being eaten by a big mouth bass (I thought Tom might like this one!--Stevie Mattoon's "my daddy caught a bass.")
Look how small Luci is! Luci and Bryan
My, how she's grown!
Bryan in his DNA research class.

JT playing Tippi Hedren in The Birds....oh wait, these are butterflies!
Love those bubbles!

JT shows off his strength--this machine shows the use of pulleys.

Bryan doing the same thing!
Luci playing in the area just for little folks. She loved this area.
Dressing up!
An eel. This looks just like the animal that the evil seawitch Ursula in The Little Mermaid used as servants. I was amazed at how good Disney got this ugly thing.
Octopus--I edited the photo some to make the icky parts show up better. I wasn't allowed to use a flash there.

The closest my kids will get to a school lunch room! Tyler is inbetween Bryan and JT.

Luci's ready to go!
Luci and Hannah in front of the magic wall. I figure someone who did drugs came up with this exhibit.
JT and Luci play with the water feature. This was lots of fun for me, too.

Tired! Let's go home!
Luci playing with Elisha, another homeschool friend.
Luci with the pin wall. Look at that flat face--I think she's part Miao with that flat face.
JT showing his class.
Luci was not impressed with the turtles.

JT and Tyler in the wind tunnel. Hannah was in there, too, I don't know where she disappeared to.
